Pakistanis can Now Start Filing Their Income Tax Returns for Tax Year 2021
On 1 July 2021, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced that Pakistanis can now begin the process of filing their tax returns for the financial year ended 30 June 2021 both on its mobile application and website.
The forms for filing income tax returns for the tax year ended June 30 2021 have been uploaded by the FBR on its website. The return forms uploaded by the FBR include separate forms for salaried individuals, the association of persons (AOP), and sole proprietors.
As per FBR, the income tax returns for the fiscal year ended 30 June 2021 can be filed either through the Tax Asaan application or the tax authority’s web portal.
Persons must install the Tax Asaan application on their smartphones from the Google play store if they are planning to file their tax returns using the aforementioned application.
The FBR also said that the guidance regarding providing all the required information is available on the return form.
The tax regulator also said that a campaign would also be launched to raise awareness among people regarding the filing of taxes for the tax year ended 30 June 2021.
The last date for filing the income tax return for the tax year 2021 is 30 September 2021.
